We feel legitimately proud of this publication of a translation in English by Dr.T.N.Ramachandran of St.Arullnandi’s Irupaa Irupatu. We have already published Dr.T.N.R’s translation of three Meikanda Sastras, namely the Tirukkalitruppadiyaar, the Tiruvuntiyaar and Unmai Vilakkam.
The Irupaa Irupatu is a hard nut to crack. Wittingly or unwittingly an iron-curtain has been drawn over this work. It is very like the poem of Shakespeare’s namely ‘The Phoneix and the Turtle’ to which an apposite reference is made by Dr.T.N.R. in this volume.
Eventually St.Arullnandi indited the Irupaa Irupatu the understanding of which makes one a true Saiva Siddhanti.
We hope, the reader, by his careful and committed perusal of Dr.T.N.R’s translation, undertaken repeatedly, will gain the much coveted knowledge of Tamil Saivism.
